Dear Friends, We are on course to raising the resources to buy food and other essentials for the Children at Kenani Community School, which is for grades 1-12, as well as supports elderly care. The projects have a combined total of 800 people (school-400 ages 5-15, football (soccer) -300 ages 8-17, and elderly care -100 ages 60-75).
We are now entering one of the most crucial period of fighting the pandemic-the cold season. We ussually experience different types of flue and with COVID-19 around the situation becomes tricky. Schools for examination classes re open on the 1st of June and our children not only would need food but also safety equipment like Masks, disinfectants and all the required measures in place. All contributions would be key！
The Malalo Sport Foundation (MSF) is an initiative of the Youth Press and Development Organization - Zambia and the Friends of YPDO Inc. Malalo means "Bridges" in the local language, which is a word that defines very well our scope. Our main objective is to use sport as a mean (bridge) to give young people the opportunity of being involved in a group and keep them away from ill vices while offering them a chance to have an education and play football.
We believe that sport is a powerful vehicle for change.
The MSF needs food supplements for all the participants considering that we have challenges of food supply due to restricted movements caused by COVID-19. A family of six needs $5 of food per day. The world right now is unstable because of COVID-19, and our government HAS appealed for international support, but that is insecure as every nation is faces the same challenge. The Children also need educational supplies to study from home as well other nutritional supliments. We are asking people who can give to do so as generously and comfortably as possible.
