Sweet, gentle Nelson was a happy and healthy house bunny. However about five years ago he developed prolapsed glands on one eye, also known as "Cherry eye.” We had asked our vet at the time if there was a surgery that can be done to correct it but they said it was too risky and nothing can be done. Making matters worse, two years later he developed it in his other eye. He was extremely uncomfortable and going blind.
But we found hope: our new rabbit-savvy vet sent us to a veterinary ophthalmologist who says that surgery is possible! We are raising funds to give Nelson a chance at both pain relief and being able to see again! We are grateful to any donation, no matter how small. Thank you!
