Help to eradicate cancer from our world!!
One out of every 3 people will develop cancer in their lifetime. In 2007 there were 11.7 million new cancer diagnoses. In 2020 that number should pass 18 million new cancer cases with 1.8 million of those being in the United States. This year 607,000 families will experience the loss of a loved one. We must do something to stop the spread of these cancers. Glioblastoma is a brain cancer that affects many children. Currently less than 5% of children survive a diagnosis. Breast cancer currently affects 1 out of every 7 women in their lifetimes and is now the most common cancer. Prostate cancer makes up 21% of all cancer diagnoses in men. Lung cancer is the 3rdmost common cancer for men and women. While earlier detection has helped Colon cancer detection, the five year survival is still only 66%. We have scoured the scientific community and have found what appears to be one of the most promising adjuvants (helpers) to chemotherapy. We are currently raising funds to help cancer research in hopes of providing a cure for cancer in the future.
Founded in 2010, Hand to Hope is a registered 501(c)(3) Florida not for profit corporation, that makes it easy for people to support causes they care about.
Our Current Mission: To help raise money for some of the most promising cancer research in the country. We are seeking to raise money for clinical trials for glioblastomas, breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, and skin cancers including melanomas. We are vigorously supporting research of a new drug that is currently in development and has shown significant preclinical promise.
Glioblastoma is what’s called an "Orphan" disease. Many large drug companies avoid studying orphan diseases due to their relatively low number of patients. (under 200,000) For this reason, these studies need all the support they can get.
More than 1 in 3 Americans will develop some type of cancer. In 2019 in the U.S., there were an estimated 1.8Million new cancer cases and approximately 607,000 cancer deaths. Over 650,000 cancer patients receive chemotherapy treatment in the U.S. each year. By 2040, the number of new cancer cases globally will increase to 26 million with two-thirds (67%) of patients requiring chemotherapy.
Diverse Biotech, a small Florida company is conducting a ground-breaking study at Duke University, for a new type of drug that has shown in preclinical testing to be ONE THOUSAND PER CENT (that’s right 1,000 %) more effective than chemotherapy alone. From data gathered so far in their study, it is also appears to be potentially less toxic than chemotherapy alone. Not only are we raising money which will go directly to Duke for this particular study, but we are also raising money for breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, and colon cancer studies to begin as well.
Please help us to support these efforts to eradicate this terrible, unforgiving disease.
