When I think of Life, I think of vitality, strength and hope, so many thoughts come to my mind as I try to put in perspective how important Hope is to living. I was able to find a very fitting quote that said “Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
Today, we are facing great times and times that truly test the heart and spirit of mankind. Personally, I have witnessed homelessness and people suffering in silence from life experiences and social injustices that placed families at opposing sides because of religion or political views. But, I want to talk about Hope. Hope is something each of us can agree is what is exponentially needed today.
Many homeless men and women are looking for hope and not hand-outs; many veterans who are survivors of combat and personal trauma are looking for hope and relief from their experiences with pain, injury, mental illness, and survivors guilt associated with their military service.
Since 2001, we have encountered elderly and disabled people who are also facing the hardships of not having enough food, or essential goods in their homes. It touched our heart as an organization and owner to find a way to make a difference. We saw that this severe hardship is very devastating and hopeless for many of our elderly who worked so hard in their lives, now they are engulfed in hardships of inflation, healthcare cost, and loneliness. That’s why we are asking “HOW CAN WE HELP?”
I agree with the passage that says “You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. “ – Job 11:18-19 This is what our organization wants to provide to everyone who reaches out to us for help bring Hope and Safety. Our outreach plan is simply “HOW CAN WE HELP?”
Through the eight years of actively providing essential items such as hygiene products, food, clothing as part of our WE CARE strategy; we believe that more can be provided with your help and contribution to heed the call and ask “HOW CAN WE HELP?” Reflections of Grace Outreach Ministries Inc. and A Heart for the People Outreach Center Inc. has helped over 5000 men, women, and children with essential items such as winter hats, gloves, scarfs, warming products, socks, shoes, and blankets. Also, we were successful in supplying over 8,000 individuals with important hygiene items such as shavers, soaps, shampoos, tooth hygiene kits, towels, baby wipes, and lotions. I know that these items are basic items that everyone uses daily; but so many people cannot afford these basic essential items daily. We have seen young children and teenagers, young adults with families, elderly people with health challenges, all suffer from this basic deficiency and we believe that we can make a difference one person and situation at a time by providing each person who we meet that are in situations that we mentioned Hope and companionship. WE want to start a Hope Center in our community that will allow anyone who are suffering or feeling hopeless due to social or physical situations, to come to us, let us help, let us be the Hope and companionship that people need.
We want to provide the following:
· Food pantry
· Health screenings
· Homecare service
· Job Service
· Home school for homeless children and teens
HOW CAN WE HELP?
With your donation of any amount, our organization can continue to make a difference and ultimately provide a save haven for people that need hope to come and feel relief. Regardless of your background.
WE need your help. Help us by giving or donating items listed to help bring hope and love that expands to more than our back yard for years and decades to come.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 to help purchase items needed and to purchase space to provide comfort and peace to people that need a hot meal, a place to rest, and a location to pick up the essential items all at no cost to them.
“When you have lost hope, you have lost everything. And when you think all is lost, when all is dire and bleak, there is always hope.” – Pittacus Lore
Thank you for every thought of hope and donation. We appreciate that you took the time to read our objective. We wish you all good luck and blessings on your journeys.
