GRANT US HOPE
In 2018 we lost our friend, Paul, to suicide. What an unbelievable loss for all of us. His amazing family created Project HOepPnEr to support other teens and encourage thoughtful discussions for people to reach out and ask for help. Please read the explanation below and please consider donating to this cause so close to our hearts. We thank you so very much. Our virtual rowing team is called "Grant Us Hope."
Suicide is the second leading cause of death in the US for people ages 15 – 24.
Vermont’s suicide rate is higher than the national average.
Project Hoeppner was created to increase awareness about the catastrophe that is teen suicide and offer courage for teens to say “I need help” and for their loved ones to hear it. The goal of sponsored events is to create opportunities for teens, loved ones and the community to connect and communicate honestly with each other…without judgement. We have chosen to show our support of Project HOePpnEr by participating in the Hope for TomorROW event and fundraiser. We hope you will support us in our effort to reach our goal by making a donation.
Once again, Lake Champlain Maritime Museum has graciously agreed to act as fiscal sponsor for our Hope for TomorROW fundraising efforts. Proceeds will benefit both the Maritime Museum and Project HOePpnEr, however receipts will show a donation to Lake Champlain Maritime Museum only.
