As we honor the veterans who have served our country, help Geva bring our community's veterans and active servicepeople "Home for the Holidays" with a special performance of A Christmas Carol presented at no cost to them and their families. With support from the Avangrid Foundation, Geva is proud to offer this holiday tradition for the 10th year on December 26, 2019.
In order to provide this service, Geva depends on the support of our generous community. Please join us in sharing the magic of live theatre by making a gift.
Families who attend "Home for the Holidays" enjoy more than a matinee of A Christmas Carol: they experience support, gratitude, and community. One family who attended the 2018 "Home for the Holidays" performance shared this reflection:
"As I sat and waited for the show to begin, I looked through the crowd and imagined the stories each family has, the wounds, the losses, the memories, the sacrifices, the transition back to civilian life. And here we are in Rochester, hours from the nearest base, without a military presence in our view on a daily basis, and you still see us. You made room for us. You gave your talents, your time, your generosity, your afternoon to give us a place to be a family together. Our family was blessed by your investment in humankind."
Please help us to offer this important experience to families who have lost an active-duty serviceperson, those whose loved ones are away on active duty during the holidays, people who are currently serving, and veterans who have returned to our community.
