Friends of Oakland Animal Services wants to send Oakland's homeless animals Home for the Holidays. We need your help to make their holiday dreams a reality--and thanks to a generous FOAS donor, the first $5000 in donations we receive will be matched, dollar for dollar!
As our city's ONLY open-door shelter, Oakland Animal Services takes in every homeless, lost, abused, or neglected animal who arrives at our door--more than 5,000 animals of all kinds each year. Through Mickey's Medical Fund and our Foster Program, Friends of Oakland Animal Services is making sure as many of Oakland's homeless animals as possible will have the chance to go to their very own home for the holidays this year. But we need your help to meet our $25,000 goal!
Now is your chance to change a life. Your Home for the Holidays donation will make the difference for animals who were once deemed "unsaveable" due to our shelter's budgetary constraints. In just the past few months, FOAS donors have saved:
-kittens like Kitt, who had to have an eye removed due to a serious infection that was untreated--until he arrived at the safe harbor of OAS;
-dogs like Pretty Girl, who needed leg amputation surgery after being hit by a car and rescued by OAS animal control officers;
-abuse victims like Yeti, a kitten who came to us with a rubber band wrapped tightly around his leg, which had to be amputated to give him a fighting chance;
-and so many other animals. From routine dental procedures that make it possible for cats in pain to eat comfortably, to knee replacement surgeries and rehabilitation for dogs with degenerative joint conditions, FOAS donors make the difference for our city's homeless animals in need of a little extra TLC.
Kitt, Pretty Girl, and Yeti will all spend the holidays this year in safe, loving homes, basking in the warmth of the new adoptive families who love them. They are home for the holidays because of FOAS donors like you.
ALL animals deserve a loving home for the holidays. Please make a tax-deductible year-end gift to help us meet our $25,000 goal--and play your part in making a difference for Oakland's homeless animals this holiday season!
