Hello to all,
Thank you for your assistance in helping me raise money to help our Warriors, family members, and loved ones deal with the invisible wounds of war. The program at Home Base is near and dear to me as I partake in the Warrior Health and Fitness program. Whatever distance I have to run or walk in training and during the Boston Marathon pales in comparision to what many of our Veterans and their familes endure on a daily basis. The opportunity to help a fellow servicemember is the least that I can do.
Having never run/walked a Marathon, I look forward to training and raising awareness on the Home Base program. I trully hope that I am able to help another Veteran/ Servicemember receive care.
I attached a video showing many of the Soldiers I had the honor of leading in Afghanistan. The video is a small glimpse into an Army company's experience while deployed. Each Veteran has a story and some of those stories/ experiences are not something they are willing to share. They and their family members struggle with a variety of invisible wounds.
I am thrilled to raise money for Home Base as they dedicated their services to heal the invisible wounds for Veterans, Service Members and their Families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education and research. Home Base operates the first and largest private-sector clinic in the nation devoted to healing invisible wounds such as post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, co-occurring substance use disorder, military sexual trauma, family relationship challenges and other issues associated with service. Since inception, Home Base has served more than 15,000 Veterans and family members with care and support, trained more than 55,000 clinicians, educators and community members nationally and remains at the forefront of discovering new treatments– ensuring a brighter future for the 21st century warrior and military family.
