Life Prep Academy is a school and dorm designed to meet the needs of homeless teens. in addition to a high quality education, we provide housing, in a stable living environment. Our teens come from a homeless situation, which interferes with their educational and personal growth. LPA first provides their basic needs (shelter, food, safety, clothing). Then we challenge them academically, and prepare them to be self-sufficient, responsible adults. We assist them in transition from high school to college or career. As a Christian-based program, we approach academics, physical/mental/social health, and life, with a God-centered perspective.
“My name is David. I was 17 when I came to Life Prep Academy. I had gotten in some trouble with the law, and after going through a treatment program, I was ready to move on with my life. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a place to go. After four months of waiting, I found Life Prep Academy. They took me in, gave me a place to stay, and my education. While I was there I learned so many things. I gained job skills, independent living skills, and social skills. During my time at Life Prep Academy I achieved many things. I got my diploma, a driver’s license, got a job, bought a car, help with health insurance, etc. Since I graduated they have continued to help me. I now work at Target, and attend Anoka Technical College. I am glad that Life Prep Academy will be there for me whenever I need support”. - David, graduated 2016
