A few months ago I had the pleasure of touring the Regional Food Bank of New York. This food bank serves Plattsburgh to Poughkeepsie and everywhere in between - almost HALF of New York State. It was truly awe-inspiring to see their set-up. It's a sad reality how many Americans still deal with food-insecurity and even sadder during the Holiday Season when food is such a cornerstone of so many traditions. Being Italian, food is our lifeblood - all of my fondest childhood memories revolve around food! Learning how to cook from my Nana & my mother, talking (screaming, really) at Sunday dinners with my Grandparents, fighting with my cousins over the best piece of dessert....the list goes on...
I know purse-strings can get tight around the holidays. Our lists of people to buy for seem to get longer & longer, and while we might have the best intentions, donations can sometimes fall to the way-side. But while we're stressing over what gifts to buy-there are people stressing over feeding their families; and not just at Christmas. Anything you can spare might be just enough to keep even ONE family from feeling that fear - and to that one family, you've made a world of difference.
Please join me in donating this holiday season to this organization that truly helps the community first-hand. Thank you.
