"I started Hole 72 in 2014 to raise awareness and funds for mental health initiatives. The idea was simple - to challenge myself to find a creative way to start important conversations about mental health. This year, I will doing Hole 72 for HeadsUpGuys, an amazing resource for men battling depression based out of UBC."
One day, four rounds of golf, 72 holes, and over 50,000 steps.
"We men tend to believe that we need to ignore or hide our emotions to be tough. When I first spoke up about depression, I thought I was being weak, but in fact, it was me talking about depression that ultimately made me tough and made me into the man I am today – a married man, a grateful man, and a man in control of his depression."
As proud supporters of HeadsUpGuys, The Newell Family of Kings Links Golf Course will match donations up to $10,000.
Donations are tax-deductible.
