In honor of my brother Bobby Hoban, I am reaching out to help raise money for cancer research and support in Philadelphia through Legacy of Hope. My brother was a helicopter pilot who was killed on October 30, 2018. He was a hero to his family, especially his daughters Tania, Alex, and Jessie, and his love Judy. Some highlights of his life can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/298893157/ddffe1e814.
It doesn't matter who you are or where you live, receiving a cancer diagnosis scares the hell out of you. Three years ago I was diagnosed with bi-lateral breast cancer and after several surgeries and ongoing drug treatment I am cancer free. I was very fortunate throughout as I had the support system and the means to take the time to heal and move forward. Many people are not as fortunate as cancer doesn't care - it just hits and you have to deal with it. If you are in a place where you are struggling to make do, cancer can ruin your family and any future security that you may have.
Legacy of Hope exists because no promising cancer research should go unfunded, and fighting cancer should not cost a family their home or cause a family to go hungry. Legacy of Hope is creating a united front to find a cure for every cancer, and to fight alongside those who have cancer.
