When you have to tell a story about your campaign, which one do you tell?
Do you talk about the six-generation family farm that will remain in the family because you stepped in?
Or perhaps the land -- now preserved -- where an orphan girl found refuge after losing her family in the London bombings during World War II?
Or, maybe you spotlight the property near the Delaware River and its tributaries that, thanks to your efforts, helps ensure clean drinking water for countless people?
Each acre has its own story, its own memories, its own legacy.
Hunterdon Land Trust safeguards our agricultural, natural, and cultural heritage. It started in 1996 with a handful of citizens determined to protect our verdant fields, streams, farms and forests – all the things vital to our well-being and fundamental to our sense of place.
Since then, HLT has worked tirelessly to preserve 9,784 acres in the Hunterdon County area.
To help support our work in past years, HLT hosted a Farm to Table dinner. This year, the Covid-19 pandemic prevents us from gathering together.
Our Treasure Hunterdon Virtual Move-a-thon is our way to encourage everyone to get out and explore our beautiful local landscapes, or to simply walk the dog around your neighborhood and to do it for a great cause.
By participating in our Virtual Move-a-thon, you'll continue to support our work to protect fields, woodlands, family farms and clean drinking water. It will honor our cultural, natural, and agricultural legacy by preserving what we value most about our beautiful county.
And it will ensure that during times of need --like now !-- we all have sacred spaces to escape to for refreshment and renewal.
Let us continue to do your good work: Register for the Treasure Hunterdon Virtual Move-a-thon today.
