Higher Learning Commission is raising money for the Chicago Lights Elam Davies Social Service Center because we want to support an organization that provides emergency food services to people near our office in the Loop. The Social Service Center was recommended to us as an excellent organization that serves the community.
The Chicago Lights Social Service Center meets basic human needs while working with partner agencies to support persons on their journey toward greater stability and self-sufficiency.
Its services include case management, a food pantry, clothing assistance, housing assistance, job-readiness training, street outreach, and support groups.
Rooted in the vision of former Fourth Presbyterian Church pastor Dr. Elam Davies, the program has served “the least, the lost, and the lonely” with dignity and respect since 1983.
