I'm hiking the Suffern - Bear Mountain Trail on Saturday, April 28! For every mile I hike (all 21 miles!) I request you donate $2 to Family of Woodstock's hotline training programming for the upcoming year.
I volunteered at Family of Woodstock's anonymous hotline from February - August, 2017. The hotline is one of the oldest 24-hour dialboards in the United States. The hotline training gave me the vocabulary, and sharpened my listening skills, so as to be able to assist callers in finding solutions that are appropriate to them, in a non-directive and non-judgmental away, for a wide variety of situations.
By donating to Family of Woodstock, you are supporting a new conversation about mental health, domestic violence, homelessness, and several other issues covered under the human services umbrella. By training individuals to have new conversations about human service needs, new possibilities and unforseeable societal results can be realized.
Family of Woodstock, Inc. is a network of individuals, paid and volunteer, whose mission is to provide confidential and fully accessible crisis intervention, information, prevention, and support services to address the needs of individuals and families.
