Because I Care. This is Mountain Shadows motto and the reason we are participating in Mountain Shadows Foundation Virtual Walk & Roll.
About Mountain Shadows
This fundraiser, hosted by Mountain Shadows Foundation, is to raise funds for the residents of Mountain Shadows Support Group’s Community Homes-San Diego and Community Homes-Riverside. Mountain Shadows Community Homes is home to 171 residents with intellectual disabilities, all of whom are medically fragile.
After over six months sheltering-at-home and likely much longer, residents are going to be ready to participate in the many activities they usually look forward to—we need your help to make these activities possible. In non-pandemic times residents go to the beach, sail, ride horses, go to sporting events, concerts and other cultural events, adaptive ski, and more. These activities are funded by donations made through Mountain Shadows Foundation. A significant portion of these donations are raised through our annual fundraiser, Mountain Shadows Foundation Fall Classic, which sadly had to be postponed this year.
I have seen firsthand, the warmth, love, and compassion that our residents receive from the dedicated Mountain Shadows staff and supporting community members. This is a noble cause, and I know for certain that your donation will help enrich the quality of our residents lives.
Our team of avid outdoor enthusiasts have committed to hiking over 50 miles of rugged California trails and mountain tops between August 21st and October 12th 2020. Over the next several weeks we will provide updates on our progress and share pictures of our adventure.
