Hike for Angiosarcoma Awareness
I am thru hiking the Continental Divide Trail this year in memory of my best friend James John Kilgore from Ayer, Massachusetts. James was like a brother to me for over 20 years. He was loved by so many and will be truly missed by all the hearts he touched. James (Jimmy) was taken by Angiosarcoma on September 27, 2017 at the age of 33 leaving behind his fiance and newborn daughter. Jimmy always loved hiking, but unfortunately could not hike at all for his last 2 years of life due to his condition. He said to me last year......"Paul, seeing your pictures from all the mountains you climb on all your hikes give me so much strength. You need to keep hiking cause I've never seen you so happy and healthy." So in remembering those loving words, I wanted to hike this trail to honor him. (Especially since the Colorado's Rocky Mountains were one of his favorite places to visit) My goal is to hike the entire 3,100 of the CDT To the Montana/Canada border from the New Mexico/Mexico border, and to raise as much money as possible for the Sarcoma Foundation of America throughout the hike. Money raised will be for Angiosarcoma research worldwide, helping anyone who has been affected by this disease, and ultimately to hopefully one day find a cure for this life taking cancer. Any donations will go directly to the Sarcoma Foundation of America in Damascus, Maryland to help Sacoma cancer patients live to see another day. Please follow my hike on Instagram @ Waterbug Hikes and share this link to help cure Angiosarcoma. Thank you all. -Waterbug-
