In past years, Hendrick Hudson High School has hosted various events looking to fund the fight against cancer. These previous events have been a tremendous success in helping those in our community, and this year we hope to continue our efforts in supporting families in Putnam and Westchester County battling cancer. We are very excited to bring back Play For Life for a second year, as last year we raised $15,000 and recieved an abundance of compliments on the event! All are welcome to attend our upcoming FUNdraising-filled night!
Play For Life is a community-wide fundraiser centered around various sports and fun games for all ages! The event will be from 6pm-12am on June 5th, 2020 at the High School. Sports, games, and competitions will take place on the turf, in the gym, and in the dome. At 8:00PM, we will be having a ceremony to honor the cancer survivors in attendance at the event, followed by a luminaire walk to remember those we've lost. In addition to this, we will be hosting a special ceremony for 10th grader Alex Figueroa and 1st grader Franklin Tenesaca - two of our students who were both unfortunately diagnosed with cancer this past year.
All funds raised will be donated to Suz Crew, a community based organization that helps local families pay for everyday expenses during their battle against cancer. They call this "not funding the cure, but rather the war." For more information, feel free to visit their website, www.suzcrew.com. You can also contact them at email@example.com or (914) 471-2450.
