The HGMS Student Senate conducted thorough research and considered many ideas posed by their peers, utilizing a process called "brain-writing," in order to come up with a way to bring our school community together while doing some good for the local community.
The senators decided to conduct a fundraiser for a NYC-based charity, Children's Aid, a wonderful program that has been serving communities, such as ours, since 1853! It is a private charity that actively ensures that medical, educational and emotional needs of all NYC children are tended to. They are present both inside and outside of our schools.
We understand that times are tough, and that it may not be possible for all families to contribute, but we ask that if you plan to participate in our event that you consider giving to this charity in place of paying an admission fee.
"What event?" you ask!
The Student Senate will be hosting a Virtual Talent Show on __________ because they know that HGMS has lots of talent! We hope to have a big turnout! If your child wishes to showcase their talent in this competition, please consider giving to Children's Aid through our GoFundMe page here. Even if your child does not choose to participate, we would still greatly appreciate any and all contributions!
More details about this event have been emailed to you and are available on Class Dojo.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
