Whoah! If we raise $296, Donny and I will donate the final $750 to get Henry to his goal of $10,000.
Henry, you’ve raised over half of your goal of $10,000, with contributions from 37 people, in only six days. What do you think of that?
Really cool. I think maybe we can reach the goal of $10,000 before my 10th birthday (August 15).
I’m really excited to see what this does to help people.
What do you want to say to the people who have already given?
Thank you so much for donating money to help my cause. It makes me feel really good whenever I see how much we’ve raised. It makes me thankful that people are taking time out of their day to read this and help my cause.
I hope that this money goes to help people make choices about their own body.
Henry, when did you start thinking about this?
When we were talking about how much money it costs to have a baby. Why do you have to pay to have a kid? It’s just not right.
You should just be able to go to the hospital, sign a couple papers, and then have a baby. You shouldn’t have to pay so much money. Not a lot of people can do that.
Having a baby should be free.
Why do you want to do this fundraiser?
I want to donate and raise money because people should have control over their bodies, because if it costs so much money to have babies, then those babies could die for no reason.
If you don’t want a baby, you don’t have to have one.
What are you hoping this fundraiser will do?
I think if we raised 50 or 100 thousand dollars, that would make a big change.
I hope the money would go to mothers who don’t have enough money to pay for hospital bills.
If they need somewhere to stay because they’re really pregnant, or they don’t have enough money to take care of their babies, like food, clothes, a bed.
Of, if they want to have a baby, if they can have clothes, food, soft food for the baby, maybe a small crib that you can carry around, and a little bit of money to pay for yourself so that you can take care of your baby.
Mothers have to take care of their babies, and it’s really hard, so mothers also have to take care of themselves, because babies are a lot of work.
Mothers need support. Their friends should support them and help them raise the kid, because it might be hard to raise the kid alone.
If the mothers have the right education, then I think it might be easier for them to raise babies.
Kids and mothers and fathers need education- maybe free classes to learn how to raise a child and find support.
I realize that I have privileges that other people don’t have- clean food and clean water, health insurance, a bed, an iPad. We have a car; I have toys; sometimes I feel like I have more than other people. I really wish I could give my privileges to other people. Sometimes I forget that. I want everyone to have those privileges in life.
