In September 2017, 1st grader Henry Glassman, son of one of our school librarians, was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma. Through the course of his 18 month treatment protocol he went through five rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, 20 rounds of radiation, two bone marrow transplants, and five immunotherapy treatments. Currently in 2nd grade, Henry is part of a promising NIH study to prevent reoccurrence. He has directly benefited from new and innovative cancer treatments.
The Wakefield High School Men's Lacrosse Team is dedicating the 2019 season to raise money for children's cancer research and help children like Henry.
