I am reaching out to you to let you know that I am again participating in the Be Brave for life annual fundraiser.
All of the money I raise will support the Be Brave for Life Foundation’s goal to support innovative research leading to better treatment options, and ultimately a cure, for these kinds of brain tumors and vascular lesions.
Since our founding in 2015, we've raised more than $500,000 to support our mission. As you donte to this effort you will discover the power that comes from being brave!
Here are some quick facts about this cause ...
In 2015, my friends daughter Riley- now 17 years old - started the foundation after her third craniotomy to remove a brain-stem tumor.
Today, there are over 700,000 Americans living with a brain tumor and over 80% are considered benign (non-cancerous).
Benign doesn’t always mean harmless. Even benign brain tumors can be deadly, and significantly impact quality of life. And, for most brain tumor patients, life-threatening surgery or radiation are their ONLY treatment options. At this time, benign brain tumor research is underfunded and the public remains unaware of the magnitude of this disease.
In the past 30 years, there have only been 4 FDA approved drugs to treat brain tumors; so, for most brain tumors, surgery & radiation are the only treatments.
Please consider making a difference in the lives of individuals suffering with benign brain tumors, their families, and their friends. I’d love to have you participate in any way that is meaningful to you.
The more money that we raise, the bigger the impact we’re able to make toward making a real difference in the lives of individuals suffering with brain tumors and lesions, and the neurological consequences of their removal.
Thanks so much for your support!
