Every year tens of thousands of people (including kids) end up in the hospital or emergency room because of asthma and allergies! Thousands of others even die! The good news: we are able to change the lives of thousands of people through our programs and services. These are things like: The Wee Breathers© Asthma Care for Adults©
These programs teach proper management, helping to reduce unnecessary visits to Emergency Departments or missed school days o Coaching families and communities at health & wellness events throughout Michigan * Providing expert lectures on the proper course of asthma & allergy management *Advocating on asthma & allergy issues through legislation & policy changes in Lansing and D.C. *Educating & training doctors and nurses on the latest treatment guidelines *Contributing to research programs striving to find a cure for asthma, allergies, and food allergies
But (there always is a but), even though we have been around over 35 years, there are still those in the community who suffer needlessly…those we just can’t reach because of limited resources.
Because you've read this far, we know that you have a deep understanding of this because of your first hand experience with asthma and allergies. Currently, our funding outlook is bleak – the funds that allow our staff to go into schools, community centers, workplaces, churches/temples, and even your doctor’s offices – to teach and train those in need – all across Michigan.
But, there is a fix to this problem: We invite you to donate to our cause (especially during #GivingTuesdayNow - which is also World Asthma Day!) and help us continue our vital mission. When you give today, your dollars will help prevent someone from making 20 trips to the Emergency Room this year, or enable a perfect attendance at school (because asthma is the #1 reason kids miss school!), and so much more!
