We aim to raise money to help the people of Mozambique recover from two of the most powerful storms that have ever struck Africa in recorded history.
We hope to help the children and families devastated by the recent cyclones to hit Mozambique. We believe that there is a direct connection between the lives we live in the United States and the development of climate change related weather events such as these that affect disproportionately countries such as Mozambique, one of the world’s most impoverished and vulnerable. We feel that it is important that we acknowledge these events when they happen; and, when there are members of our home communities who have connections with these distant lands and people, to show support to those communities out of sense of extended responsibility and obligation. Although there are many organizations working in Mozambique, would are asking our friends and community to Doctors Without Borders, and to Gorongosa National Park Region Relief efforts, and to Save the Children.
