On February 8th at 2:00 a.m., Rev. Bill Stanfield awoke to a phone call from a local community leader exclaiming: “I can see flames leaping far above the roof of Old Chicora!”
The Old Chicora renovation project is 18 years in the making, three years in planning and comes at an investment fourteen times Metanoia's annual budget. Preparing for our most expansive project to date, we invested to scale operations by hiring additional staff to build organizational capacity and boost our programs to build leaders, establish quality housing and generate economic development.
The Old Chicora financial strategy included program reinvestment from fees Metanoia will receive at closing, which was originially scheduled for March 17th.
Facing challenges is nothing new to Metanoia. Our faith in one another and confidence in the future has never been more valuable. We are committed to the Old Chicora renovation project. We continue pushing forward.
So many people have asked, “How can I help?”
As we work to get the project back on track, a gift today will help sustain our efforts. Your investment will be magnified when the Old Chicora renovation project closes and breathes new opportunities into our community and existing programs.
