Help us continue our work in St. Vincent and the Grenadines during this time of need.
On our February 2020 visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), Jerry was joined by Karen and David Downing of Kinship Partners. We held Kinship Mentor training for 15 SVG community members who will mentor children and adolescents from Our Lady of Guadalupe Home for Girls, St. Benedict's Home, and children in need from the general community.
Then COVID-19 put travel restrictions everywhere.
Jerry should be there now, following up and helping to match children and mentors. We need to reorganize and somehow provide connections via Online Video Chat (ZOOM, VSee, etc.). Due to the sensitive nature of the matching process, these video conferences need to be secure and encrypted HIPAA compliant. This level of security does not come with the free versions of any online video conference system.
We also need to develop other ways of connecting for our training that doesn't involve travel for the time being.
Anxiety is everywhere during the COVID-19 pandemic..especially to a small country with high poverty rates. We want to provide online support and counseling to those we work with in SVG that would greatly help.
