"Help" us support our unique program and our horses during this time of need.
Every day for the past 36 years, our committed volunteers, horses, and employees have worked to support the community we serve. Now, they need your help. H.E.L.P. is committed to ensuring that our program is able to maintain financial stability so we can emerge on the other side of the coronavirus crisis thriving and ready to continue to serve our special riders in-person through our therapeutic riding and equine assisted learning programs. While we wait, we have modified our lessons to telehorse sessions and volunteer orientation and training to virtual in order to maintain connection and learning for everyone our organization touches.
Income from weekly lessons helps pay our staff, feed and maintain our equine partners, and pay the rent for our incredible facility. Without lesson payments coming in these things are not possible. You might look around and see that most of the personnel at H.E.L.P. are volunteers. We are beyond grateful for their committed and passionate dedication to our program. While we have many volunteers, we also have two full-time employees who count on us for their living expenses as well as a herd of nine horses and two donkeys to feed and maintain. In addition to cancelling lessons, we’ve also had to cancel a popular fundraiser (April's Pistons in the Park) and postpone our scholarship fund benefit trail ride fundraiser. Three horse shows were also cancelled; Gold Stirrup and Special Olympics area and state competitions. These not only bring H.E.L.P. to the community, but encourage and inspire our riders with something to work towards in their skills.
We kindly ask that you join us in supporting our horses and program. Your gift will help provide immediate financial support so we can purchase essential food, supplements, hay, and care for our horses, cover general costs of running a 20 acre facility and other supplies needed to ensure our preparedness when our riders and volunteers can return in person.
