Help us support caregivers in Lesotho during this time of need.
During the global COVID-19 pandemic, social isolation and country-wide lockdowns have devastating consequences for people living in poverty and carrying the burden of caring for children, the ill, and the elderly. Grandmothers, young mothers and child-headed households are in desperate need of essential supplies and mental health support with the most urgent needs arising from loss of income, food insecurity, and isolation from the support structures that typically allow them to cope with their challenges.
The funds raised through this campaign will provide such support as:
- $25 provides paraffin fuel for one family for one cold winter month;
- $50 provides airtime and data for one week of psychosocial support outreach; and
- $100 provides food staples (and transportation to deliver them) for a family of 4-6 for one month.
Help Lesotho's local staff are working night and day to reach out to vulnerable people to equip them with factual information about COVID-19, to provide psychosocial support for ongoing personal challenges, and to ensure that people know they are not all alone during this time of isolation.
