Help us support North Carolina's environmental educators during this time of need.
Like you, environmental educators across the state are trying to navigate the impacts of COVID-19. With school field trips and large gatherings cancelled this spring, hundreds of educators working for parks, nature centers, zoos, and other organizations across North Carolina are out of work. They are facing financial strain, both personally and as organizations. But they still want to feel connected to their communities and feel they are following their passions to change the world. Like you, they want to make a difference.
Now, they need your help. By supporting EENC, you can help provide some additional income for individual educators who are out of work. You can help support environmental education programs so they can afford to keep their staff employed and their doors open after this crisis. You can also help educators build their skills so that they can continue to provide high quality environmental education for students across our state - even if it looks a little different than it did before.
Will you join us in supporting our dedicated educators? Your gift will enable EENC to create online professional learning opportunities for educators - and pay the educators and organizations who are struggling financially to help us.
With your help, we want to:
- Hire at least 10 educators to facilitate 1-hour recorded trainings for their peers on topics ranging from video production to strategic planning to naturalist knowledge.
- Create and facilitate online 6-hour courses for the "Guidelines for Excellence," to help educators hone their practice and programs to national standards for high-quality environmental education programming.
Help keep our environmental educators in action, so they can continue providing education we need for the world we want.
