I took my first Zumba class in September 2014 and it was ❤️ at first class! The music, the dance steps, the workout, the energy... all of it was just so amazing. "Zumba® Love" is everywhere... it's even written on t-shirts! I know so many people who have improved their fitness level, personal health, as well as their psychological and social well-being, all by taking a Zumba class. For me, I ❤️ Zumba so much that I want to spread this "Zumba® Love" and donate the proceeds that I earn by giving my own Zumba classes to this fundraiser, in memory of Joanne Verde.
Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally, and was responsible for 8.8 million deaths in 2015. Globally, nearly 1 in 6 deaths is due to cancer*. Within my own social circle, I've had family members and friends, in various age groups, who have been diagnosed with cancer. Some were treated successfully and are doing well today. Unfortunately, Joanne lost her battle to cancer in October 2016.
Jo meant so many things to me. She was a dear friend, business partner and mentor. I met Jo in 2000, working on my first consulting assignment and we connected instantly. She taught me so many things, both professionally and personally. I would not be the person I am today if Jo had not been part of my life. She was a great person to be in business with. There was no nonsense with Jo, she would say things as they were and she knew how to get things done. I will forever admire her strength of character. She was also a very caring and generous person that one could easily trust and confide in. She always gave good advice and had the perfect words of wisdom at the right time. There are so many other good things I could say about her, but most importantly is that I was truly blessed to have had her in my life.
Jo will always have a special place in my heart. Although, I can't share my Zumba ❤️with Jo in person, I know that she is with me in spirit as I embark on this new journey. I dedicate "Helping by Dancing" in memory of her. Jo, I love you dearly and miss you greatly.
With lots of love,
