CVAS is a nonprofit 501(c)3 animal shelter that serves cats and dogs (and people!) in Stevens County, Washington. We house over 800 homeless cats and dogs every year, many of which come in sick or injured, and adopt them out at our facility or transport them to other no-kill partner shelters. CVAS offers animal care services to the public like our monthly low-cost vaccination clinic and Pet Food Bank, and facilitates spay/neuter services. We accomplish all of this with just two staff members and a handful of dedicated volunteers and board members, and despite repeated requests for government funding, we continue to operate solely on the generosity of our community.
Our facility is in desperate need of replacement. Built in 1949 as a residential home, CVAS has been operating from this location since 2004. As the years progress, the property is beginning to show its age. Although great efforts have been made to bring the property into the future, as seen in our before and after photos, we have decided that the best course of action would be to build a new, purpose-built facility that would allow us to serve the needs of the animals in our community. Please help us help them!
