Now, on our 10th anniversary, we are ready to make the next leap in our evolution and we need your help! This summer we are fulfilling our long-standing vision and building the Meditation Hall (Sala) —the heart of our park — a space for those looking to connect to the best in themselves and to find inspiration for the building of a new society based on the equality of all people. At this moment in history, when we find ourselves at an intersection of a great global change, the Hudson Valley Park of Study and Reflection is more important than ever.
Here in New York the pandemic has been challenging but our State government has announced that the construction projects may resume.
This means that we are free to begin the construction of the Sala.
We have contracted the only company in the United States with the technology to construct our Sala's dome. They are in high demand, but have finally agreed to fit our project into their tight schedule in late July. We must seize this opening.
We have already received generous donations but are falling short of our construction goal. We started this GoFundMe Charity camapign to raise the $80k still needed to complete the construction of the dome.
Please donate generously and share this on your social networks, so this vision may become a reality.
Some will know the Hudson Valley Park as a refuge from daily life, inducing tranquility and providing a deep connection to nature. Others will learn about human consciousness, nonviolence and nondiscrimination. Many will experience the sacred within us and around us. In all cases, the Park is a place of inspiration and growth, of building communities, and of looking towards a human future.
We cannot wait to invite you to experience the new Meditation Hall!
More about the Meditation Hall
Besides individual meditation the Meditation Hall is a place of gathering, inspiration, learning and community building. It is especially conducive to ceremonies for personal and group well-being and for marking deeply meaningful moments in life such as the protection of children or the loss of our loved ones. The Meditation Hall is also a place where people from different spiritualities converge and can express themselves, find reconciliation and mutual understanding.
Until now, all the money for Hudson Valley Park since we purchased the land has been raised through fundraising events and the donations of individuals who have made great efforts to do so. We have raised approximately $450,000 since the beginning and 100% of the money was used to convert the original land with an existing house into a beautiful park and retreat Center. Specifically, the money raised allowed us to purchase the property, maintain the park, convert the existing house into a Center and code compliant, extensive drainage work and installation of a septic system, build ADA bathrooms, landscaping, professional fees etc. In spite of all this, we still need to raise some extra help to reach our most cherished goal of building the Meditation Hall.
