Recent events have resulted in destruction and defacing of public monuments in many cities throughout the US. Both State and Local governments are no longer taking steps to protect and preserve these monuments that represent a critical time in US history. Due to this inaction, many of the monuments are being violently taken down and vandalized. We, the members of the JEB Stuart Preservation Trust, want to save the monument of JEB Stuart located in Richmond. The monument has been removed from its pedestal and is being stored at a waste water treatment facility in Richmond. Money collected will be used to pay a company to load the monument onto a truck, in a careful and respectable way so that in can be transported to Laurel Hill in Ararat, VA, the birthplace of JEB Stuart. There it will be put on display where it can be viewed and preserved.
