Urgent: Please Support This Crucial Animal Welfare Program by March 28, 2020
Leech Lake Legacy is a nonprofit animal welfare organization founded in 2011 to provide much-needed medical care and resources for dogs, cats and their owners on the Leech Lake Reservation in northern Minnesota.
After many years of providing care and resources to more than 18,000 animals, we are at risk of losing the building we lease where this important care is provided. Our current lease allows us a right of first refusal to purchase the building, and we must exercise that right now or lose the building. Although we have searched for other properties in the area, this building remains our best option. Your help is urgently needed by March 28 to help us with a mortgage down payment, closing costs and a required maintenance fund totaling $60,000.
Your contribution will allow us to continue to provide important animal care services to animals living on Leech Lake Reservation including:
· Low-cost spay and neuter surgeries
· Low-cost wellness exams, vaccinations and parasite control
· Transport and placement of stray and surrendered animals
· Pet food and supply distribution
· Counseling on pet care, nutrition, behavior and other topics
Leech Lake Legacy is a Minnesota 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law (consult your tax advisor if you have any questions). All of the funds we receive from donations and grants are used to serve the dogs, cats and people of Leech Lake Reservation. Because we believe that we can do more for animals by working together, we partner with other animal welfare organizations to extend our impact beyond the borders of Leech Lake Reservation to nearby communities whenever possible. These valuable services are provided thanks to the generous support of clinic volunteers including veterinarians and vet techs, donors, and animal lovers like you. Please help us continue this important mission.
