The Philippine Medical Association of New England is a non-profit organization whose main mission is to conduct philanthropic activities in New England and the Philippines.
PMA New England is dedicated to continue to serve those in need. As such we have formed the PMA Wellness Program for those experiencing homelessness in Boston.
The PMA Wellness Program aims to promote the health and wellness of the homeless and underserved populations in the Greater Boston Area. On a single night alone in January 2018, an estimated 552,830 people were experiencing homelessness in the United States. 20,068 of those individuals live without permanent housing in Massachusetts. Our goal is to complement existing support systems for these individuals while providing unique opportunities that come with the support of medical professionals from PMA (ie. health and wellness discussions).
We are raising funds to continue the growth of our program and to launch new and exciting initiatives to support the needs of our community. These items include, but are not limited to:
(1) Seasonal health kits that contain daily essentials like sunscreen, hand sanitizers, and toiletries to promote the use of these often disregarded items that are crucial to health and hygiene.
(2) Monthly event expenses such as food and space rental that we use to provide a delicious and healthy meal in a safe and warm environment of a day-shelter.
(3) Other activities that promote the medical and general education of our communities.
PMA New England also conducts medical and dental missions every year to the underserved communities in the Philippines.
Thank you in advance for your donations and support!
