We do a lot in our communities.
With a little help, we can do even more.
Our core business is the collection of millions of pounds of clothing and housewares from an ever growing donor roster that now exceeds 100,000. These items are used to support the Foundation and the great work of Big Brother Big Sister mentoring agencies. In doing so, we feel we're a small part of the fabric of the 270+ towns and cities in which we collect and work hard to go above and beyond what we do for those communities.
Did you know:
- We work with NBC to collect $200,000 worth of school supplies, which we distribute to schools throughout the state?
-Each winter, we collect thousands of coats and warm weather items, which we distribute to more than 20 homeless shelters? Last year, we distributed more than 4,000 coats and thousands of gloves, mittens and scarves to people in need.
- We collect and distribute books, bicycles, musical instruments and toys throughout the Commonwealth? An instrument to a child who cannot afford one can change the trajectory of that child's education. Bikes help people get to and from work. You'd be surprised at the number of people that don't have access to books. We partner with the Million Book Project to resolve that problem.
- Through a partnership with the MA Clubhouse Coalition, we employ 100+ adults dealing with mental illness? Providing a clubhouse member with even a part time job can save their community more than $200,000 a year.
We believe we can do even more, but we could use a little help to get there. This month, even a small donation of $10 or $20 can help us expand into new areas and help even more people. You'll be giving to one of the most respected organizations in New England. We're also one of the most efficient; our administrative costs of 12% are among the lowest in the country.
If you can, please help us help more.
