Hi, My name is Michael Grant. I'm 48 years old. I have 4 children. I am an idea generator, song writer, music producer and concert producer. I am the former youth development professor of Springfield College, Production manager for MGM Springfield and a lover of life.
Recently, due to COVID, I've been furloughed like so many others in the concert industry. I was listening to one of my favorite authors, Napoleon Hill and he was telling a story about a preacher who wanted to start a school. This preacher had created an elaborate plan of what his school would be like. And to explain his idea he answered a simple question. "What would I do with a million dollars?" This question intrigued me…What would I do with a million dollars?… well,
"With a Million dollars, I, Michael Grant would open up the coolest, Art and technology training center EVER! "
What's that you say? What is an art and technology center? Well, have you ever been to a recording studio or to a concert, looked at all that equipment and said "how in the world do they use that?" how do they hang all of that stuff!? Or maybe you stood behind the folks twisting all the knobs and you thought to yourself "do they REALLY know what each of those knobs does!?" Like each and every one. Maybe you’re an artist or someone who wants to become an artist. Maybe you need a large space to make your art or to showcase it. Maybe you want to watch artists make big, beautiful works.
Have you ever noticed there are no spaces for artists in underserved areas? How come there are no art galleries in “the hood”?
Well, let’s open a training and arts center that not only answers these questions…but has a stage and lights, and sound and video and all that stuff where people can learn every aspect of producing concerts and gorgeous art. All of it. Hands on….And then…when COVID is gone and the artists are ready…Let’s help them throw art based concerts. Yep…Concerts for and by the arts community. Maybe even a tour…..Then we simply duplicate the idea in every underserved city around the country.
Give Music Inc is raising $500,000 dollars to open up what is going to be called V3NU:846. V3NU (Spelled with a 3 instead of an E cuz it’s just cool) V3NU:846 will provide hands on training for youth and adults as both an after school program and an adult arts training center. V3NU will also act as a community arts space. Showcasing art in multiple ways Using music, computers, robotic lighting, sound and physical apparatus.
We have been offered a location. We have hand selected some of the worlds best concert production companies to provide equipment, instruction and guidance in this exciting and important work and are speaking now with local artists and foundations to help install art and fund the venture.
Now…all we need is the money. Can you help? YES. YES YOU CAN! Here's how.
1. You don't have to ive the $500,000. But could you? Like are you financially in a place where you could do it? If so, we are a non profit 501c3 organization and your donation would be deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
2. Maybe you have a friend or family member who recently won the lottery? I know it sounds crazy, but it does happen! Some lottery winners are looking for a good cause to donate some money. V3NU:846 could be that cause for someone who wishes they could make a difference. A $500,000 difference would literally change lives!
3. Maybe someone recently left you with some money. Mom or dad passed away and you would like to build something in their name/honor. We would love to name a portion of the center after them! Like they do at colleges. We could do all kinds of things to honor them. Just look at The Dillisio center or the Davis center for cancer research. All great ways to honor family names. V3NU:846 would be proud to have your family name on our center.
4. Maybe…500 people could give $1000! or 5000 people could give $100, However it happens…LET'S DO THIS!
I promise to put in 100% of my life essence into this idea and these artistic people who will visit, All we need is the money.
This is what I would do with $500,000. I don't even need a million. But imagine...
