What is going on? How topsy-turvy is this world going to get?
In our 2 decades of work at Hound Heights we’ve received an average of maybe 2 or 3 boxes of puppies dumped inside the main gate per year. We’ve had double that over the last couple of months alone. And we’re running out of space. At least some of these abandoned litters have come complete with the mother dog, and all the dogs (so far…) have been - and have remained - healthy. I say healthy, although yet another strange coincidence has required the surgical removal of a seriously infected eye from two of the mothers.
So our current needs are extra food for the extra animals; extra labour to cope with the building of new dog pens and to make up for the Covid-induced lack of volunteers; and building materials for the extra animal accomodation required. Please help us reach our goal of US$3,000! Every little helps, and every helping hand or word of encouragement gives us the impetus to carry on.
One day – a dream perhaps, but hope lives and if we don’t try we’ll never find out – there’ll be no more Covid, no more craziness, and no more abandoned animals on the streets or foraging in the garbage dumps. Together we CAN make this happen!
