AT U-Hope CDC, Inc. our mission is to end chronic homelessness; we invite you to be part of our GoFundMe fundraising campaign. The focus for this event is raising funds, that will provide additional operational resources for us, and in addition give us the resource to open additional housing units that will accommodate twelve men. The projected cost for this project will be $60,000.00. Homelessness is a huge problem, Nationally between 500,000 and 600,000 people are considered homeless at any given time. Homelessness is a problem too complex to be tackled by only the community services sector and related government departments. Resources, effort and energy are needed from across the private, public and community sectors. There is a huge difference in the gender of the population of a homeless person. Single men are about 60% of the population of the homeless; of those 12% are veterans, we service unaccompanied males. Since our inception 2008 (with 1 man), we have provided housing and supportive services to over 300 men. Homelessness is a systematic (chronic) problem facing many communities like ours. We are making a difference, by providing emergency, transitional and permanent housing, if we can help one man, we feel that we have made a difference. U Hope embraces the housing first model coupled with supportive services. We have had many success stories of men that entered our program. Men that have gone on to get and keep good paying jobs, returned home to their families, even brought their own home. With the cold weather approaching, there is a greater need for beds, it is disheartening that to not be able to provide more housing and we are having to turn away indigent men daily (2-3) as a result of lack of bed space. We need you to collaborate with us in our effort to end chronic homelessness for men. Will you help us in this great endeavor of ending chronic homelessness? Your contribution will go towards adding two additional units, and the operational cost of providing supportive services (Case Management, Job placement, and more). Thank you in advance for your support and contribution.
