September 22nd G.W and Trisha Burt’s home burnt to the ground in LaWard, Tx. Thankfully they were out of town visiting their son. They lost 5 dogs in the fire. It was soon discovered that there were 75-100 dogs on the property., The Burt’s had been caring for all these dogs for years. Due to lack of funds to spay/neuter the dogs were breeding at a rapid rate. What started out years ago as a few stray and dumped dogs soon spiraled out of control. As sad as the fire was this fire brought attention to the Rescue World and help was on the way. Different rescues have come out to catch and transport these dogs into rescues that can get them vetted and adopted into loving homes. But the Burt’s want to keep a manageable amount of dogs, we would like to raise enough funds to get these dogs fully vetted spay/neutered, vaccines and micro chipped. Also supply food for the dogs while the Burt’s get on their feet. They have lost everything, their home that Mr. Burt was raised in since early 1960’s. Now they are losing most of the dogs that they truly love. Everyone of these dogs have a name. They are all in very good condition, well fed. The Burt’s have been spending over $1,500 a month to just feed these fur babies. Susan Wallner with Weimaraner Rescue of Texas, Happy Tails of Jackson County and Shelter Pets Of Victoria Rescue are committed to standing by and helping the Burt’s after the majority of the dogs are gone. We want to make sure this amazing couple never end up over their heads again. So please help us help the Burt’s and their fur babies!!!🐾💜🐾💜🐾
