Well friends, Temple Emanu-El of Long Beach, the only reform synagogue on the barrier island, is in need of your help. Throughout the years, Temple Emanu-El has emerged as a leader in Interfaith relations, Black/Jewish dialogue, and welcomes members of the LGBTQ community – all of which is reflected in our programming and numerous special events.
Because of the corona virus, we were forced to close our synagogue. This meant the preschool closed and the rental of the Temple on Sunday was partially suspended. At present, the Temple has insufficient income to support the staff or to pay the utilities, regular maintenance and repairs of the building.
While the Temple has been closed, the clergy has continued to be a source of comfort and spiritual support for our community via their videos and inspirational messages on our website (www.templeemanuellongbeach.com ) and Face Book page. Our religious school teachers have also recorded wonderful videos for their students and will continue their virtual teaching on our website and Face Book page. Both Rabbi Jack and Cantor Lisa are available by phone, email or texts to help you all through this difficult time.
We all want our beloved Temple Emanu-El of Long Beach to survive this pandemic. In order to survive, your help is needed. Please donate whatever you can. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. With your help, when this is over, we will all be together again at Temple Emanu-El of Long Beach.
Shalom and Thank you for your help!
