Beritalingkungan.com is the first environmental news site in Indonesia (Indonesia Environmental News) which was built independently by two environmental journalist in Indonesia namely Marwan Azis and Asep Saifullah, both members and founders of The Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalists (SIEJ) and also a Founders Greenpress (Association Of Environmental Journalists). Beritalingkungan.com was built on June 5, 2009 to coincide with the commemoration of World Environment Day.
The Beritalingkungan.com website is dedicated to assisting in the dissemination of environmental, climate change, disaster and ecofriendly news to the Indonesian and global public so that more public or stakeholders are concerned and want to be involved in environmental conservation.
Indonesia’s geological condition and its geographical location are in the main trajectory of the world volcano belt, causing Indonesia to naturally become a disaster-prone area such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, but also rich in natural resources. Unfortunately human behavior couses environmental damage in various places, plus climate change is increasingly massive causing various new environmental problems in Indonesia, such as rising sea levels in coastal areas, floods, landslides, etc. environmental disaster management in Indonesia, both natural and human-caused disasters, requires the support of fast and accurate information, so that the existence of Beritalingkungan.com as the first environmental news site in Indonesia, is important to maintain its operational sustainability.
This years turnaround (2019) enters the 10th year of operation and oversees the reporting and dissemination of environmental information and news in Indonesia and the world. In the 10th year, we need the support of the participation of friends so that Beritalingkungan.com can continue to operate in guarding and disseminating environmental reporting and climate change in Indonesia and the world.
To support the operational sustainability of Beritalingkungan.com and to maintain its independence in reporting environmental information and news in Indonesia, we took the initiative to build.
We plan to redevelop Beritalingkungan.com through:
1) Redesigning the appearance of the Beritalingkungan.com websites and adding additional English language channel to global readers, so that Indonesian environmental news content can also be read or enjoyed by readers globally.
2) Promote offline activities through discussions, workshops and thematic training on the environment, disaster and climate change which plans are carried out once in a month and the results of these activities will be republished information through the Beritalingkungan.com website.
3) Establish a community of readers with Beritalingkungan.com by creating new interactive pages. Development of the Everest.id ecommercer business unit. Currently, we have built the Everest.id ecommercer website, but we are still constrained by the capital to buy various outdoor products and other environmentally friendly products that will be marketed at Everest.id. Everest.id also features a blog channel that contains notes on adventurous trips and the agenda of nature lover students in Indonesia.
4) Making outdoor adventure products using Everest brand, which will also be marketed at Everest.id. Some of the proceeds of business profits or product sales on Everest.id will be donated to support environmental conservation activities in Indonesia, especially to support the operations of beritalingkungan.com in guarding and disseminating environmental reporting and climate change in Indonesia and the world.
Of course the various planned activities mentioned above, require not a little funds, because we invite friends who want to help raise funds, amounting to, 120,000 USD. Please donate to help realize our ideas in supporting the development of environmental news sites in Indonesia and supporting the sustainability of Beritalingkungan.com operations.
Not only donating, friends can also help by spreading this fundraising page to the closest people so that more people will help.
