My brother and I are asking for donations to Coconut Grove Cares Inc. which funds the Barnyard Community Center. We chose this nonprofit because the kids who attend the Barnyard really need your help. Their families have been struggling a lot since the pandemic hit. Parents have lost jobs, families have lost homes and had to crowd in with each other, there are no activities going on, and food is scarce. The Barnyard Community Center is a safe, supervised place for neighborhood children during the summer and school year. Coconut Grove Cares is a social service agency dedicated to building a better community for the children and families in West Coconut Grove.
You can make a donation through this link or if it's easier Venmo my mom @ Stacey-Chopp (note Barnyard). Here are some of the items we are raising money for:
Arts and crafts projects
fix broken air conditioner
food for Coconut Grove Outreach/St. Hugh's food pantry
We are also collecting food items for Coconut Grove Outreach/St. Hugh's as many children who attend the Barnyard also rely on this food pantry. Message my mom at 305-781-2061 if you want to arrange for a food drop off or pick up. The food pantry is asking for the following:
snack bars, protein bars, rice, beans, cereal, oatmeal, dry pasta, canned goods, crackers, lentils, quinoa, chickpeas, peanut butter, jelly, nuts, flour, sugar

We hope you will consider making a donation. Every dollar will really make a difference for these kids. Thank You!
