My dear friends & colleagues,
I'm on the board of Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, and I'm raising money so that our kids have food on their tables.
Every day, I think about kids like James. He's 10 and has been coming to the Flatbush Clubhouse for two years. But these days, he doesn't just come to play or find friendship. He comes because it's the only place he's sure to find food.
Like many people in New York, his family has been hit hard by the pandemic. His mother, a single parent of two, found herself unemployed, fearful for their health and desperate to make ends meet.
Fortunately, James and his family have found some solace in our food pantry program. They come every Thursday evening to the Clubhouse without fail. In this incredibly stressful time, the food she gets from the pantry is one thing she can remove from her long list of worries.
I am raising $10,000 to support our Club kids' summer needs, including their weekly food pantry program, masks and additional laptops for Clubs. If you are in a position to do so, I hope you'll make a gift to my page today to help me reach my goal.
