Help send me to prison to start positive programs for criminal justice restoration.
My name is Mark Epps and I’m from South Carolina. I am the director of Mission Advance, a non-profit prison initiative that writes, organizes, and teaches character curriculum and classes in a medium security prison setting.
What does an inmate do in prison? Sit, soak, and become a better criminal; or take the positive steps to become a better person before rejoining his family and society? What kind of paroled inmate do you want moving in next door to you?
For over 5 years, Mission Advance has worked in medium security prisons to write character curriculum, organize classes, train inmate instructors, and teach classes. The class is designed to help men who are ‘stuck in life,’ facing obstacles or battling addiction or other issues.
Please give to help sustain our current program of classes and to help create new classes. Your donation directly helps sustain the basic operations of these programs and the ability to offer these programs for free. Areas that receive funding include but are not limited to:
Increase inmate instructors
Produce books for 500+ inmates
Character Building Classes
Intersocial Character Building Guitar Classes
Travel, office, and communication expenses
It is well proven in criminal justice reform, and the restorative justice movement, that positive programs in prison give hope, reduce violence, and reduce recidivism.
*Disclaimer: I am not trying to attend prison as an inmate, just as a volunteer. Don't do anything that would get me arrested please.
