Sarama is growing!! Its time for us to find a shelter location to better support our programs and help us save more animals!
We rescued over 100 animals in 2019 plus helped many more through TNR and outreach services. We love our fosters and having a strong foster based adoption program which we plan on continuing to grow. However there are some barriers that stop us from saving more animals.
Having a shelter would allow us to pull urgent animals that need quarantine before going into a multi animal foster home. Yes, most fosters already have animals because they have such big hearts!
Having a shelter would allow us to take in emergency animals that we have limited behavior or medical history on so we can properly evaluate and make sure they are going to compatible foster homes.
Having a shelter would provide a safety net for foster animals that are being returned with little notice. As sad as this, it does happen and It makes us less likely to pull more animals if we don't have a safe place for them to go when fosters fall through,
Having a shelter would allow us to TNR more cats as we would have a proper holding/recovery space.
Having a shelter would make it easier to schedule adoption meets, increase adoptions and help us save more lives,
We could also have onsite training and behavior help for fosters, adopters and owned animals at risk of being surrendered.
There are so many possibilities but the bottom line is, we would save more lives.
Please donate and help us save more lives, support our community and make the world a better place for animals.
