Sweet little Amethyst was supposed to transport today. But when it was her turn to be checked by Dr. Martin, we noticed that her eye looked infected. Upon closer examination, it looked ulcerated, her third eyelid was swollen, and it looked painful. The decision was made to rush her to our friends at Bayou City Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Pulido looked her over and determined that she didn't have vision in the bad eye, that it close to rupturing, and that it most likely couldn't be saved. We agreed that removing the eye was the best thing for her, so they rushed her in to surgery. While she was under, we agreed to spay surgery and to let them repair a hernia that had recently appeared. This poor girl has been through a LOT today!! I went to visit her and she's doing well, but she's very tired and will have a lot of healing to do.
Amethyst's vet bill for today came to $770.56. Will you help us cover the costs to rehabilitate this sweet little puppy so she can get on the road to recovery and to a forever home? No donation is too small and every donation will be greatly appreciated. Any funds raised over our goal will help cover medical costs for other puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats in our organization.
