The Homeless Children's Playtime Project is raising $6,000 which will get our $25,000 grant application a chance for funding in the “A Community Thrives” program, sponsored by the USA TODAY NETWORK. We only have four weeks to make this happen; our deadline is noon on April 12. Are you in? Here’s what you can do: Make a donation directly on Playtime's designated fundraising page.
Playtime has received permission to expand play sessions at the Quality Inn overflow shelter on New York Avenue, allowing us to add two more nights of play. Your support will ensure that children ages 6 months to 7 years and preteens ages 8 to 12 who live in this converted shelter each get two nights to connect with a caring adult, build self-confidence, take healthy risks, solve problems creatively, develop new friendships, and enjoy a nutritious snack.
Your support will make a big impact on the lives of children living in the Quality Inn shelter. The effects of play are integral to brain development, emotional regulation, establishing relationships, and so much more. Give more children the chance to play!
