Aloha Hub Church Family & our Kona Community,
I wanted to give you an update on our Egg Rush Event. In previous statements I mentioned that we would be pushing back our event to a later date, and as of right now with the information that we do have, we don’t foresee a definite date that we can plan for. In coordination with our Outreach Coordinator & Church Board, we have made the decision to cancel our event entirely for this year. It deeply saddens us to have to make this decision, but we have God’s peace about the decision we have come to.
However as a church, our mission is to always look for outreaching opportunities. We have been in a lot of prayer over the last few days and have come up with something we believe our community needs right now. Under the latest guidance from the government, there is a stay at home order in place through April 30th. This is creating situations where it is difficult for those in our community who are most vulnerable to COVID-19 to get basic necessities, food, and needed supplies. With our proposed budget that we would have spent on our Egg Rush Event, we are going to start a campaign & match what others give, up to $5,000 & donate those funds to our Hawai’i Island Food Bank right here on the Bis Island that have a focus on taking care of our Kupuna’s & those who need it in the community. Where there seemed to be a closed door, God has made a way for us to still continue to outreach to this community. Praise God! We are so excited about this because we can be there as a church & community to meet these needs immediately.
So if this something you would like to give towards we encourage you to partner with us! Let's come together, as a community to help our neighbors.
📣📣📣This campaign will say we are the beneficiary non- profit, but we are not. We are recieving funds for the Hawaii Island Food Bank so we can then, match funds . We will turn in ALL donated funds along with our matched funds together.
