Hey, I’m Chandler and I am a cancer survivor. Because of the help of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, I am a senior in high school about to embark upon some important milestones. For example, graduating high school, directing a play, and most importantly, turning 18! And again, this is all because of St. Jude and donors who give to this lifesaving work.
When I was diagnosed with brain cancer three years ago, I didn’t think I would ever have the opportunity to reach these milestones. Now that I am, I want to give another kid a chance at life, to live through these milestones and many others.
At St. Jude, my treatment consisted of 30 rounds of radiation and seven rounds of chemotherapy. I want to raise $30,000 – $1,000 for every round of radiation I went through. Please help the hospital who gave me the opportunity of not only living, but living a normal life, to give that opportunity to somebody else. Because every dollar counts, a donation of just one dollar could help mean a child could grow up to experience their 18th birthday, to get their first college acceptance letter and to be able to live out their dreams. So please consider donating to St. Jude.
One of the greatest things about St. Jude is that patients never receive a bill for any of their care, so the parents and family can focus their time on their child, and not how they can afford the next bill. St. Jude is only able to do this through the generosity of donors. They use these funds to develop cures for life-threatening diseases, treat children with those diseases and provide excellent care throughout treatment and beyond. It’s been over a year since the end of my treatment and St. Jude continues to be a big part of my life – and I know they always will be. That is why I’m asking you to help me give back to this amazing organization.
